TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY
Chronic mental health conditions – some of which are not completely understood – may require various treatment modalities. We offer a range of solutions that include medication management, non-invasive procedures, and various supplements. Patients experiencing persistent symptoms will achieve the best results when then are open to new treatments.

Dr. Sujit Varma

MBBS, MD, FAPA

Dr. Varma had a vision, which turned into establishing a Behavioral Health Clinic that integrates the latest and greatest techniques available for testing and treatment. He is committed to bringing his award- winning expertise to help as many patients as possible.

Dr. Varma treats adults, children, adolescents and geriatric populations and patients from various cultural backgrounds.  

Dr. Varma has been in practice since 2003 and since received the reputation of being Minnesota’s top psychiatrist among the mental health field.  He loves watching patients transform into healthy souls and does it without judgement. 

Zach is a Board Certified Physician Assistant with the state of Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Dubuque with a Masters in Physician Assistant studies along with a Bachelor in Science in Psychology from the University of Iowa.

Zach specializes working together with adults that experience a wide variety of psychiatric disorders including: Addiction, ADHD, Anxiety, and Mood disorders. Throughout the past years in the mental health field Zach has come to enjoy practicing psychotherapy during his visits. Zach is licensed to assess, diagnose, and prescribe medication.

In his spare time, Zach enjoys the outdoors, spending time with family, and watching and playing sports.

Antonio "Tonio" Gonzales Ogas

Lead Clinical therapist
(MA, MSW, LGSW)

Tonio was born and raised in Silver City, NM and came to the Twin Cities in 2016 to complete his masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Minnesota. 

Tonio has been working in various social service roles for the past 23+ years, and he specializes in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC identified individuals, immigrants, and a wide array of diagnoses.  He focuses on trauma-informed interventions that help individuals, couples, and families move beyond their trauma and start to work on healing.  

Brainspotting is a new form of mind-talk therapy that similar to EMDR, but is more fluid and client-driven. If you’re interested in releasing repressed and unprocessed traumas that feed negative habits, Tonio has added BSP to his therapy regimen. He also has developed a strong rapport for delivering ADHD assessments at our clinic, and can work through play therapy with children when requested. 

Dr. Green has decades of experience in mental health. He has extensive knowledge of psychiatry, specifically in the realm of addiction medicine. He treats a variety of ages, from adolescence to geriatric, with all backgrounds and healthcare needs.  Dr. Green appreciates the connections that he can make with patients experiencing serious depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and other diagnoses that require medication management. 

His therapeutic approach typically includes talking and learning about a patient, which is why his appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes to 1 hour.. He prefers in-person appointments for ongoing care, but he will make exceptions with necessary for telehealth appointments. Dr. Green will refer within for TMS, pharmacogenetic testing, labs, and other services we offer and will request outside referrals when appropriate.

Tracy Newman

PMHNP, MSN, CANS

Tracy is Board Certified by the State of Minnesota as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Along with her PMHNP degree, she holds an MSN in Nursing, as well as being a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS).

Tracy has a special place in her heart for treating children, adolescents, and young adults from her many years of experience as the Emergency Shelter Nurse for Hennepin County.  She’s a spunky provider who connects to patients through authenticity and compassion. Though her specialty is children and younger adults, the older generation has been known to relate to her humorous and patient side.  She accepts all ages.

Tracy does prescribe all medication, but she does not do therapy in her appointments.  She will refer to TMS, therapy, and other treatments as necessary, including pharmacogenetic testing. She also prescribes suboxone and medical cannabis.

Eli is certified as a Functional Nutritional Counselor, Integral Therapist, Myndlift Neurofeedback provider, and a Life and Wellness Coach.  He is also certified by Alpha Stim and by Brainsway as a TMS Specialist. He utilizes Alpha Stim, infrared light, neurofeedback and nutrition/supplementation during holistic consults.

Nicole Mislivec

PMHNP-BC, MSN, APRN

Nicole is a Nurse Practitioner, with background and experience as an RN for the last 10 years. She has extensively trained to perform IV Ketamine treatments under the direction and supervision of Dr. Varma. Nicole is empathetic and communicates with patients who are interested in or actively receiving ketamine care.

Nicole provides a unique approach to behavioral health, and loves connecting with all of her patients. She currently offers IV infusions for patients that qualify and are established patients within the clinic. Nicole also provides injection appointments to our patients for certain type of medications, along with assessment appointments to provide top quality care from all of our providers. 

If you have the opportunity to have a follow up appointment with Nicole, you won’t be disappointed.

Her previous experience working within the prison system has provided an intense understanding of individuals who are truly struggling and need help. It also enhanced her awareness of compliance, surroundings, and ethics.

Taylor manages questions and concerns brought to PsyFi TMS. She is the main contact for front office inquires, and she supervises the Reception Team.  Patients have found that she has a competence and natural ease about her – both of which are a blessing at this fast paced clinic. 

Taylor also handles record requests and audits at PsyFi TMS.  Ever wonder if those records were received? She’s your gal.

Katie Hagen

Office Director (medical Billing/Coding)

Katie has her BA in English & Communications, from the University of North Dakota. She utilizes her skills within our clinic to help patients understand their insurance benefits, coordinate with outside referral sources for patients, (because within mental health it’s not a one size fits all scenario). 

Katie has worked for Dr. Varma for 6 years doing medical billing, psychiatric assistance, and general administrative roles. Feel free to reach out to her with any questions.

Alexander (Alex) is certified as a Brainsway TMS Technician, and is the TMS Supervisor.  On a typical day, you will see Alex in the TMS room, helping patients feel comfortable during their sessions or on the phone getting more TMS approved. Alex has done hundreds of treatments.  He is the main TMS contact and is always willing to answer any TMS related questions you may have.  

Energetic and caring, Alex makes sure that a patient’s visit is a pleasant experience.

Mercedes Wiler

Behavioral Health Administration (billing coordinator/Medication Prior authorizations)

Mercedes is our clinic specialist – working behind the scenes to get your medication approved by insurance. 

She works collaboratively with other administrative staff to handle front and back end rolls. 

 Mercedes handles insurance verification, and eligibility of patients’ insurance to help understand plan benefits. You will find her over in Suite 600. Mercedes is point of contact for billing questions along with back up to scheduling appointments for all clients.

Leora may be the very first person you connect with with choosing PsyFi TMS. She handles much of the scheduling, medication refill requests, intakes, and assists with many of the questions that may arise through your treatment with us.  She handles all situations with knowledge, speed, patience, and compassion. 

Leora is in the midst of working on her MA at St. Mary’s University. Patients find Leora to be not only helpful, but bring a calm presence with her!

She has a BA in Psychology and is currently working toward her MA in Clinical Counseling and Psychology Services. Once graduated, she hopes to become a licensed therapist in the state of Minnesota.

Noah Fogel

Noah is a Blossom TMS Technician, certified to deliver top-notch care. On an average day, you can find him in the TMS room offering comfort and support to patients during their sessions or on the phone helping them get approved for treatment. He is always available to answer any inquiries related to TMS.

Alongside TMS Blossom, Noah works closer with VNS procedures and everything that goes into submission on the backend. Noah collaborates with our medication providers to also offer UDS testing for continuation of care. 

Noah’s upbeat attitude and compassion ensure that each patient’s visit is enjoyable and rewarding.

Abby Bailey is a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She joins Psy-Fi TMS team with a wide background of experience. You might recognize her in the hallways either in the TMS room, helping out the administrative staff with clerical work, prior authorizations for both medications or TMS; along with scribing for various providers to keep this busy clinic moving! Many patients and staff alike love Abby’s natural ease of calmness and ready to help wherever help is needed! You’ll also find her working with Nicole (NP) in both suites. 

She enjoys working with patients and watching their growth along with collaborating with the different services our clinic has to offer.

Makayla Shepard

Psychotherapist (MSW)

Makayla is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) who received her Masters of Trauma-Informed Social Work from Winona State University in April of 2023. Prior to Psy-fi TMS, Makayla worked in various community-based settings in the Twin Cities as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) since 2020. 

Makayla is a therapist who values both empathy and humor when it comes to working with clients. She is passionate about creating a therapeutic relationship with each of her clients that includes a compassionate, inviting, and inclusive nature. Makayla enjoys partnering with clients to be creative in the therapeutic process in order to find what works best for them.

Experience working with clients who have had concerns related but not limited to: life transitions, foster care & adoption, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. Makayla’s therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in theories such as attachment, somatic, and most importantly, trauma-informed. Makayla offers therapeutic services to individuals, couples, & families of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Makayla can also offer play therapy and ADHD assessments

Pao uses an integrative approach by valuing clients’ strengths and inner experiences while improving his/her insight into the dysfunctional thinking that leads to dysfunctional emotions and behaviors. He also believes that a client’s experience is part of a bigger story; one that they have the power to change and can gain the tools to do so. As a psychotherapist, it is Pao’s job to provide a safe atmosphere for clients to discover their potential and gain the insights and tools which will be helpful in their journey to living their best life. It is Pao’s perspective that we all have some form of trauma and attachment issues that affect our relationships and choices in life. Some of us struggle with these more than others. Without addressing these issues, we prevent ourselves from being the best version of ourselves. It is Pao’s wish to be the light in your darkness as you journey into a more colorful future through a lens of hope and opportunities.

Renae joins Psy-Fi TMS with great experience working with various populations, coming from Mission Animal Hospital. Renae brings with her a positive approach to daily clerical work, whether that’s incoming phone calls, outgoing faxes or greeting in-person patients. 

Organization comes natural to Renae, as she maintains both building suites day to day incoming/outgoing communication. You’ll find her in suite building 400 most days but will probably have spoken with her on the phone or through email/text.
